The AFI OXY1095 O2 Oxygen Lambda Sensor is inserted in the exhaust system to monitor the amount of unburned oxygen in the exhaust as the exhaust exits the engine. If the fuel mixture burns lean or rich it sends data to the engine computer (ECU) and the computer adjusts the fuel mix accordingly.
