Marine Audio

Our Marine Audio category is where you’ll find all the marine specific audio gear. What makes these products distinct from those you’ll find in our regular audio categories is the extra attention paid to weatherproofing, UV stabilisation and enamel PCB coatings which help prevent the type of water damage, sun damage and corrosion that would otherwise make short work of destroying regular speakers, amplifiers and source units.

If you are after a decent headunit for your ski, wake, fishing or other type of leisure craft, and you have a din standard sized aperture then you’d be hard pressed to go past the CDA-118M. This unit mounts into a standard single DIN slot yet boasts a large 1.8-Din sized Fascia to provide ample real estate for a decent sized display, large analog volume dial and plenty of oversized button, making viewing and operation a great deal easier when riding across the chop or bobbing around at anchor. With the advent of high efficiency class-D amplifier circuits, fully integrated SOCs, wireless technology and our modern smart phones, the ISO standard DIN socket is perhaps not long for this world. This is perhaps best evidenced by the plethora of innovative new source units available to the marine market that have done away with the DIN standard altogether. Take the GR300BT from GME which can be surface mounted on top of your instrument cluster, or the SPXM1 from Stinger, the HMR20 from Hertz and the AT1901BT from Axis, each of which can be flush mounted into any flat panel. Even more impressive is the HMR10 from Hertz or MA1801 from Axis, which are circular in design and can be panel mounted into any instrument cluster, just like an analog gauge, with ease. The Hertz and Stinger also provide options for panel mounted remote controls to be placed elsewhere around the passenger area for greater convenience commanding the headunit, while the Alpine provides the option of an RF solution that can be passed around the cabin and will float if someone is foolish enough to drop it overboard.

Our range of Marine Speakers covers every base with flush mounted options ranging from 5-inch up to 8-inch. Hertz and Phoenix Gold even have 6.5-inch coaxials equipped with RGB… because, let’s face it, everything is better with RGB. Hertz provides ceiling mount speakers for installation into larger vessels and houseboats with interior cabins and Axis provides boxed solutions suitable for installation just about anywhere else both in small and large form.

Alpine and Pioneer both offer loaded cans purpose built for installation onto a wake tower, while Alpine have also developed a complete audio system for wakeboarders who would like to be able to control the audio in the tow boat while riding.
