Alpine’s HEDGE surround on BassRev speakers acts like performance suspension for your woofer. This unique surround lets the 6.5" cone move farther, up to ~30% more excursion than traditional surrounds, while maintaining control. That extra, linear motion translates to greater low-end output and deeper extension, giving BRV-S65 the impact of a larger driver while preserving smooth midrange and clear vocals. The result is crystal-clear, subwoofer-sized bass from a 6.5" coaxial.

Instead of mounting the tweeter on a center post, BRV-S65 inlays the tweeter down into the cone. Placing both drivers closer to the same acoustic center helps their sound arrive together, so the handoff between woofer and tweeter feels more unified. You get a wider sweet spot, smoother highs, and cleaner imaging across seats. The result is a coax that sounds more like a well-blended component set.

The BRV-S65 is impressive on its own, but the real magic happens when you pair it with Alpine's OPTIM8 DSP/Amplifier using OPTIM Sync, our BassRev-specific tuning.
