Heavy-duty plugs and sockets are manufactured in accordance with the current SAEJ560 standards and thereby meet Australian standard AS 4735-2003 for heavy-duty connectors. Made in the USA the connectors are rated at 40 amp continuous duty and are interchangeable with all other SAEJ560 plugs and sockets.

The earth terminal (Pin No. 1) is self-grounding (die cast only), has a peak rating of 70 amps and will accept wire sizes from 4.8mm2 The terminals inside the connectors are electro-plated solid brass to ensure minimal voltage drop and protection against corrosion. Special 'weatherbeater' internal seal to prevent water ingress and a spring guard provides extra cable protection near the plug. The sockets are available in die-cast aluminium or nylon and supplied with a heavy-duty rubber boot as standard.
