Description

Fuelmiser brings the same level or care, attention, and quality to their distributor rotors as they do to everything else they supply. In older cars the distributor assembly takes the place of the electronic ignition timing found in newer engines to mechanically time the firing of each of the engine’s spark plugs. Along with the distributor cap, the rotor makes sure that every step of the ignition process takes place exactly when it’s supposed to. The distributor rotor is powered by a gear on one of the engine’s camshafts or by the camshaft itself. Its rotation generates an electric current which jumps from an exposed metal area of the rotor to connections in the distributor cap. From these connections the current passes along wires to each of the engine’s spark plugs, causing them to fire once it arrives. The rotation of the rotor ensures that the plugs spark in a staggered sequence at the opportune moment in each cylinder’s combustion cycle.
