What is ringspun cotton?

Ringspun cotton goes through an extra manufacturing process compared to regular “open-end” cotton. The yarns are rapidly spun around a ring mechanism (hence the name), which thins the yarns into a finer gauge and twists the fiber into a consistent direction.

T-shirts made from ringspun cotton tend to be softer and smoother compared to those made from coarser open-end cotton, and are often lighter weight due to the tension and fine weaving of the ringspun yarns. Ringspun cotton garments also have a reputation for greater durability.
