No matter what type or size charger you need you can be assured that Noco have a model purpose built to suit your application(s). We have included a chart below which lays out the key functions and specifications of each of Noco’s charging solutions to allow easy selection of the right charger. Reach out to our friendly and knowledgeable staff here at Automotive Superstore if you require any assistance determining which charger to choose.
Noco Genius series
While positioned as Noco’s entry level, the standard Genius series of battery chargers are intelligent, compact, efficient and rugged enough for general purpose use in most situations. 1, 2, 5 and 10A single output as well as 2x and 4x 2A multi output models make up the basic lineup, all capable of charging 6 and 12V standard lead acid batteries, as well as 12V AGM and Lithium chemistry batteries. The larger Genius5 adds a 12V repair function, a sort of reconditioning mode, while the Genius10 adds this as well as support for 6V AGM chemistry and a convenient 12V power supply mode, the latter being great for powering all manner of accessories and equipment up to 10A or 120-Watts. Filling out the standard Genius series is the tiny Genius2D, which support for 6V and Lithium type batteries and is designed for standard 12V chemistry and AGM type batteries only. The Genius2X2, 2X4 and 2D all add cases featuring screw holes to allow wall or panel mounted installation. All are IP65 rated except for the Genius2X2 and 2X4 which are IP60.
Noco GeniusPro Series
Designed as a wholistic workshop charger capable of delivering the right boost and float voltages no matter what needs a charge, Noco’s GeniusPro series is available in 375W and 750W models. Standard, AGM and Lithium technology support and lead acid repair function across 6-, 12- and 24-volt systems as well as a 12V and 24V power supply function, capable of 12.5A and 25A respectively. The GeniusPro series of charger are designed to be portable and are IP20 rated.
Noco Jump Starters
Having a jump starter on hand is somewhat essential in many situations, but it was not long ago this meant carting around a big, heavy lead acid starting battery wrapped in a big plastic case. Those days have thankfully behind us, thanks in large part to the advent of compact, reliable and capable lithium chemistry alternatives. Lithium battery technology offers a host of advantages over lead acid alternatives. Of course, the two most important are the vast improvement in both volumetric (size) and gravimetric (weight) power and energy density. In fact, a lithium chemistry can deliver more than double the power (Watts) and for longer (Wh) than lead acid chemistry which might be twice the physical size and weigh 4 times as much.
But not all lithium chemistry batteries are created equal and the failure mode of some can be quite catastrophic, which is particularly relevant in high current applications such as jump starters. This is something we at Automotive Superstore believe worth considering when choosing which brand to buy while shopping for a compact jump starter pack.
Noco Boost Series
The entry level Boost series of Lithium jumper starter packs are suitable for general purpose use. They feature an integrated flashlight, a rugged IP65 rated case, and convenient USB A output for powering mobile devices and other USB products, and Micro USB charging input each suitable for up to 2.1A (10W). There are 5 models to choose from, size from 24Wh to 89Wh and capable of delivering 500A to 3000A of cold cracking amps. Start small if you just need something small to jump your regular passenger vehicle and charge the odd mobile phone or tablet, work your way up from there if you have a larger engine or would like a larger reserve on hand for multiple starts and/or continuous charging of your devices.
Noco BoostX Series
The BoostX series is much like the standard Boost series with one major difference, BoostX is compatible with the newer higher-power capable USB-C standard. This distinction allows the BoostX series of jump starter packs to charge and power devices up to 60W, 6 times faster than the USB3.1 standard supported by the Boost series. There are 4 BoostX models to choose from, sized from 31 to 99Wh in capacity and capable of delivering 1250A to 4500A CCA respectively.
Noco BoostMax
BoostMax (also known as Boost+ or BoostPlus) are much larger jump starter packs designed for much larger vehicles and/or many more starts. The BoostMax series is comprised of a 12V, 24V and 12V/24V model, capable of delivering 5250, 3000 and 6250A of cranking power respectively. The BoostMax series provides broad support for larger stationary and mobile power systems as well as heavy, industrial and agricultural vehicles. Dual USB A 2.1A power outputs are also integrated but USB-C support is not, however Noco do substitute this with an arguably more application suitable 12V 5A charging input and 15A power supply output.
NOCO Lithium batteries
Lithium battery technology offers a host of advantages over lead acid alternatives. Of course, the two most important are the vast improvements in both volumetric (size) and gravimetric (weight) power and energy density. In fact, a lithium chemistry can deliver more than double the power (Watts) and for longer (Wh) than lead acid chemistry which might be twice the physical size and weigh 4 times as much.
But not all lithium chemistry batteries are created equal and the failure mode of some can be quite catastrophic, which is particularly relevant in high current, high temperature and high vibration applications such as starting batteries. This is something we at Automotive Superstore believe worth considering when choosing which brand to buy while shopping for a lithium chemistry alternative to your standard lead acid battery.
Noco Lithium Powersports
There are many aspects to consider when designing a lithium chemistry replacement for a lead acid battery. Power density, energy density, form factor, voltage management, cell balancing, mechanical suspension and insulation are just a handful of the most critical.
Noco, knowing automotive batteries like none other, have some of the most well resolved lead acid replacement lithium batteries out there. They utilise quality Lithium-ion Phosphate chemistry and feature an inbuilt battery management system that protection from over-voltage, short circuit temperature, over-discharge and over-current. Added protection is also provided by bi-directional cell balancing, a rubberised cell suspension system and rugged IP66 rated case. They are also supplied with everything you need for installation.
While primarily design for use in powersports applications in motorcycles, jet skis, snow mobiles and other small engine equipped toys, they also make a great weight and space saving alternative to the standard lead acid starting battery found in most smaller performance vehicles. This makes them the perfect choice for those looking to shave a bit of dead weigh and find a few extra inches under bonnet for an intercooler down pipe, oil catch can or similar accessory.
